Hiking Waihe'e Ridge

The Waihe’e Ridge hike is not an easy trek. It stretches 4.5 miles long to the top and back, with a fairly steep elevation gain of 1545 feet, this trail can be physically punishing on a 90* summer day. However, you will be amazed by the bi-coastal views and scenery of the lush green West Maui Mountains. You’ll see wild exotic flowers, horses and cow’s grazing. Remotely located ranches, waterfalls, pines that reach to the sky, and wild fury moss. With so much to look at, it’s important to watch your footing, it’s narrow in a few places, and bring enough water, and a small snack for the top. Hard to believe this amazing hike is 10-15 minutes from the coconut cottage. Aloha

Pink Pineapple & Aloe in Full Bloom!!

Once every 2 years or so, the wet winter charges up our beautiful Pineapple plant to flower and produce the fruit we all know and love. Only this one is illuminated with an eye popping pink hue that demands a second look. These are edible, and pack wonders of flavor into its smaller little package. The photo on the right is of the fresh Aloe that is on hand year round for cuts, burns, hair care, and so much more. This amazingly healthy, handy plant reaches high when flowering it’s many yellow, pink, orange, and green blossoms. Our property is always full of life, but when it’s in bloom like this, it’s a real blessing to engage with while coming and going.
